Nature's energy drink, without the synthetic crash. Taragui Energia draws on the strength of a summer harvest, when yerba plants naturally concentrate their caffeine. You get twice as much mateine (the natural caffeine in yerba mate) and up to 30% more xanthines than in regular Taragui, which makes this the ideal choice for athletes and anyone in need of sustained, natural energy.
What does Taragui Energia taste like?
Taragui Energia tastes powerful and pronounced, with a clear earthy character and subtle citrus undertones that balance the intensity nicely. Unlike smoke-dried mates, this air-dried variety is free of heavy smokiness and offers a fresh, agreeable flavour with herbal notes and a mild bitterness — think strong green tea rather than tobacco. The fresh, vegetal character comes through clearly, which keeps this intense yerba feeling clean and approachable despite its raw strength.
About the producer
Taragui Energia is produced by Establecimiento Las Marías, Argentina's largest yerba mate producer. They pioneered air-drying technology (SIN HUMO) to eliminate PAHs while retaining maximum flavour and energy. The summer harvest that makes Energia so distinctive is carefully processed and checked for zero agrochemicals, and meets the strictest EU food safety standards.
How do you drink Taragui Energia?
Prepare Taragui Energia the traditional way: fill your mate cup three quarters full, add lukewarm water first to stop the leaves from floating, then top up with hot water at 70-80°C. Place your bombilla and start drinking. Thanks to the high energy content you get sustained stimulation without a jittery feeling — perfect for your morning mate or as a pre-workout drink that genuinely has to perform.
The mate that convinced even sceptics that flavoured yerba mate can be truly delicious. Taragui Maracuyá Tropical combines passion fruit and orange in a light, sweet blend that bridges traditional Argentinian mate and tropical fruit flavours; it is often described as "the first flavoured mate people genuinely enjoy". It's your ideal starting point for discovering what else mate culture has to offer beyond the classics.
What does Taragui Maracuya Tropical taste like?
Taragui Maracuyá Tropical tastes light and refreshing, with passion fruit and orange taking centre stage while the natural earthy, woody and herbal notes of yerba mate keep everything nicely balanced. The overall experience is fairly simple but excellently executed and never overly flavoured, so the essence of yerba mate is preserved while real sweetness and a tropical character come through. You still taste that classic hay-like, herbal touch of Argentinian mate, without any harsh bitterness getting in the way.
About the producer
Taragui Maracuyá Tropical is produced by Establecimiento Las Marías with natural tropical fruit flavours, from yerba grown, harvested and processed by specialists since 1924. The light-bodied yerba is air-dried (no smoke, no PAHs) and blended with carefully selected passion fruit and orange aromas. Every batch is lab-tested to guarantee that no agrochemical residues are present and that it meets the strictest EU food safety standards.
How do you drink Taragui Maracuya Tropical?
Grab your gourd and prepare Maracuyá Tropical like any traditional mate: fill it three-quarters full, add lukewarm water and then hot water at around 70°C. This variety also really shines as tereré (cold mate) on warm days: pour cold water over the leaves, add ice and watch the tropical notes come to life. The combination of passion fruit and orange makes a refreshing summer drink that tastes like authentic mate, not like an artificially flavoured beverage.

For anyone ready to take the next step in mate. Taragui Sin Palo leaves the stems out and gives you pure leaf (around 90% leaf content), which makes for a richer, stronger and fuller experience. This is where you taste the real complexity seasoned mate drinkers are after.
What does Taragui Sin Palo taste like?
Taragui Sin Palo has a uniquely rich and soft flavour with the velvety, creamy texture that pure leaf delivers. You still get the smoky, earthy qualities of traditional yerba mate, but wrapped in a noticeably softer mouthfeel. The higher ratio of leaf to stem brings out more pronounced earthy notes, blended with a subtle sweetness, giving a more complex and fuller flavour than the Traditional version.
About the producer
Taragui Sin Palo comes from Establecimiento Las Marías in Corrientes, Argentina, the world's leading yerba mate producer. Since 1924 they have refined their craft with air-drying technology that eliminates carcinogenic PAHs and preserves purity without agricultural chemicals. Their vertically integrated operation gives them control over every step, from seedbed to packaging, ensuring consistent quality in every sip.
How do you drink Taragui Sin Palo?
Prepare Sin Palo the same way as any other loose yerba mate: fill your gourd three quarters full, tilt it, pour lukewarm water down the side and then add hot water at 70-80°C. Because there are fewer stems, you get a denser, more powdery texture, so a bombilla with a fine filter is preferable. Refill as soon as the flavour fades and count on a richer, more intense experience throughout the day.
For when you want to taste South America without leaving home. Taragui Naranja combines the authentic earthy character of traditional Argentinian yerba mate with a refreshing burst of natural orange flavour. This is Taragui's most exotic variety: smooth, uplifting and perfect for anyone looking for a fresh citrus twist on the classics.
What does Taragui Naranja taste like?
Taragui Naranja tastes like traditional Taragui mate, but with a delicious orange upgrade: fresh citrus notes come through straight away, while the earthy, woody base keeps everything nicely balanced. The orange aroma stays noticeable in every infusion and gives a lively, refreshing character that never becomes overpowering. You get the smoothness and energy of classic yerba mate, wrapped in a sunny citrus flavour that calls for cold water and ice.
About the producer
Taragui Naranja is made by Establecimiento Las Marías using their signature air-drying method, which eliminates PAHs. The natural orange flavour is carefully blended with the finest yerba mate leaves and stems from Corrientes, Argentina. More than 85 years of production expertise goes into every pack, backed by certifications showing that no agrochemical residues are present and that it fully complies with EU food safety standards.
How do you drink Taragui Naranja?
Taragui Naranja is excellent both hot and cold. For traditional hot mate, fill your mate cup three-quarters full, first add lukewarm water and then hot water at 70-80°C, and drink through your bombilla. For summery tereré (cold mate), simply pour cold water or ice-cold juice over the leaves and sip through your bombilla. The orange flavour really comes to the fore when served cold, making this an ideal choice for warm weather and relaxed moments outdoors.
The calling card of one of Argentina's most trusted yerba mate brands. Taragui Traditional is a perfectly balanced blend of leaves and stems, refined over more than 85 years. Whether you are just starting out with mate or you are a seasoned drinker, this everyday choice delivers authentic Argentinian flavour without unpleasant smoky notes.
What does Taragui Traditional taste like?
Taragui Traditional has a subtle, earthy flavour with hints of sour fruit and a lightly bready character that keeps it interesting. You notice a faint smoky undertone without it taking over; instead, the real star is that classic character of toasted dough and tobacco as it brews, followed by a bitterness reminiscent of absinthe and rye bread crust. It finishes with hints of lemon and butter, giving a simple, balanced flavour that appeals to anyone who prefers a less assertive profile.
About the producer
Taragui is produced by Establecimiento Las Marías in Corrientes, Argentina, a company that has led the yerba mate world since 1924. They were the first Argentinian producer to eliminate PAHs by using air drying instead of smoke, and they hold Rainforest Alliance and FSC certifications for sustainable forest management. The Navajas family is still at the helm, guarding that quality standard across four generations.
How do you prepare Taragui Traditional?
Fill your gourd about three quarters with Taragui Traditional, then tilt it and pour lukewarm water down the tilted side. Add hot water at 70-80°C, let it settle for a moment and then insert your bombilla. Pass it round your circle and refill with hot water as needed. The stems help the leaves pack together well without clogging your bombilla, which makes this beginner-friendly for long mate sessions.
The sleek black finish and torpedo-shaped design of this gourd provide a comfortable grip and a stylish look. Made from high-quality materials, this gourd guarantees durability and excellent heat retention. It is ideal for traditional bombilla preparation and enhances the authentic experience of drinking mate.
NB!
Because this gourd is made entirely of natural products, each product is unique! The size is also different for each gourd.
Furthermore, with a natural product it is extra important that you take good care of it. For example, we recommend that you let the gourd 'ripen' before using it for the first time, and you must take good care of it to keep it beautiful (instructions are included).
Union's take on flavoured mate: herbs and citrus from Argentina's subtropical Litoral region, blended into a soft base that lets the natural flavours come through. Hierbas del Litoral walks that fine line between traditional and modern; it is flavoured mate for people who value balance and authenticity.
What does Union Hierbas del Litoral taste like?
Union Hierbas del Litoral has an agreeable flavour without bitterness, in which a delightful citrus blend takes the lead, while lemon verbena adds extra freshness and peppermint gives a subtle cooling effect. The added flavour is mild: the herbs and citrus complement the natural mate taste rather than dominating it. You get the soft, familiar Union base with a fresh and aromatic character: a subtle citrus mix (orange, mandarin and grapefruit in balance) supported by the earthy notes of traditional mate and rounded off with a refreshing herbal touch.
About the producer
Hierbas del Litoral is made by Establecimiento Las Marías, whose vertically integrated system safeguards quality from seedling to packaging. The blend contains lemon verbena (1.5%), peppermint (1.5%), carqueja herb (1.0%), orange (0.5%), mandarin (0.3%) and grapefruit (0.2%), plus a natural coastal aroma: 100% natural ingredients, with no artificial flavours or colours. Every component is tested and checked against the same strict quality standards that characterise Union.
How do you drink Union Hierbas del Litoral?
Prepare Hierbas del Litoral with the traditional mate method: fill your gourd three quarters full, add lukewarm water, then hot water at 70-80°C, and drink through your bombilla. This variety is also excellent as cold tereré; the citrus and herbal notes come through beautifully when served cold. Thanks to the soft flavour profile, you can drink this mate at any time of day.
Three kinds of mint meet mountain herbs in this refreshing blend. Union Hierbas Serranas brings together the cool, fresh character of Argentinian serrano herbs from the mountain region with Union's soft base, creating something more pronounced than the citrus blends while keeping the brand's signature mildness and approachability.
What does Union Hierbas Serranas taste like?
Union Hierbas Serranas tastes mild and refreshing, with three kinds of mint producing a complex cooling sensation that feels natural rather than icy. Peppermint gives the strongest mint character, while field mint and poleo add subtle nuances underneath. The cooling effect is clearly noticeable but never artificial, giving a refreshing mouthfeel that lingers pleasantly. The herbal notes are more pronounced than in the citrus blend, but the soft Union base keeps the flavour in balance, so no single element takes over.
About the producer
Hierbas Serranas combines peppermint (Mentha piperita), field mint (Mentha spp.) and poleo (Marsypianthes chamaedrys, Argentinian pennyroyal), all natural components with no artificial additions. Produced by Establecimiento Las Marías, with the same careful ingredient selection and quality control that characterise their flagship brands. The herbal components are traditionally valued for their supportive effect on digestion and their cooling properties, which makes this blend as functional as it is flavourful.
How do you drink Union Hierbas Serranas?
Prepare Serranas with the standard mate method: fill your gourd three quarters full, add lukewarm water and then hot water at 70-80°C. This mate is particularly well suited to cold tereré (recommended), where the mint flavours and the cooling effect come into their own perfectly in warm weather. The herbal cooling character combines excellently with ice. You can also use the French press method: steep 1-2 tablespoons per cup for 3-5 minutes. The mint flavours become more intense with hot water extraction, and the flavour holds up across multiple refills throughout your whole session.

Union Traditional is the approachable everyday option: soft, balanced and developed so you can enjoy mate all day without tiring your palate.
What does Union Suave taste like?
Union Suave has a soft, balanced flavour profile that is immediately pleasant, with surprisingly much character underneath. The aroma is sweet, rich and full, with floral undertones and dry fruity notes, and ranks among the most complex aromas in the Union range. There is a mild bitterness, a touch of grain and even notes of honey that make this a soft and agreeable mate to drink.
About the producer
